“Eternal Atake” Has Finally Arrived

“Eternal Atake” Has Finally Arrived

By Malique Lewis

For over three years, Lil Uzi Vert’s fans have been anxiously anticipating his new album Eternal Atake. His last album was back in 2017— it may not seem that long of a time, but when an artist continues to tease a new album for multiple years, patience starts to run a little thin.

Finally, the album has dropped, and the fans couldn’t be more ecstatic for its release.

“He’s one of the best young artists the music industry has to offer, he’s done a lot with music and even fashion, and he’s iconic for the young generation. It’s just great to see him drop new music, because his music is good. I hope it doesn’t take another three years for his next one,” said MLEC senior Christian Cine.

Beyond the fans and the anticipation is simply the music, the sound, the vocals, and the vibe that was executed throughout the eighteen tracks. Two of those eighteen tracks were songs that were remixed and both tracks have already caught traction.

“I like the fact that he remixed a few songs on his album, it just highlights the versatility he has as an artist,” said MLEC senior Jordan Amilicar.

Lil Uzi has recreated popular songs, such as “I Want It That Way,” titling his version “That Way,” which still uses the chorus everyone knows and loves. Not only that, but he implements verses that are captivating to listen to with his own sound, style, and twist to it.

While he also adds his own flair to other people’s songs, he doesn’t hold back on some of his own remixes either. On his sixteenth track off the album named “P2,” Lil Uzi remixed his best streamed song “XO Tour Lif3” by featuring new lyrics and a slightly new sound.

Many of the songs on Eternal Atake show Lil Uzi Verts fans a new side of him that hasn’t been seen before. Uzi has always been known for his catchy flows, but his flows have evolved even more on Atakes spacious beats that sound like the melodies of the galaxy.

“The beats on this album are on another level. Usually in rap sometimes things get redundant, but Uzi continues to separate himself with the guitar loops on songs such as “Bigger Than Life” and the spacious sounds that are featured on all of the tracks,” said MLEC senior Brunix Michele.

From the sound elements, to Uzi’s consistent bars on each and every track, to his lyrics and his punchy lines, this album may have just been worth the wait.

“I’ve been waiting a very long time for this album, I’m just glad Eternal Atake has finally arrived. It’s Uzi’s best work yet, and throughout these songs you can hear the energy, time, and effort he put in the music” said MLEC senior Jonathan Morresieu.

“Thank You, I appreciate you,” said Lil Uzi Vert on social media when asked about the patience of his fans. As an artist there’s a lot of pressure to drop music, however, perfecting something and making it a classic is not easy, and that’s what Lil Uzi attempted to do. Of course, this only raises expectations for whatever Lil Uzi Vert has in store for his next album, but for now, Eternal Atake is here— let’s enjoy it!
