Senior brunch is a highly anticipated event, in part because anything with the word ‘senior’ attached carries a bittersweet feeling. This year the event is being held at the Rusty Pelican on Friday, February 22nd.
As high school years come to a close, soon a new chapter begins— life. Seniors instinctively make the most of every gathering. Senior brunch is a time spent with people’s closest friends, away from the classroom setting.
The obvious question now becomes “What to wear?”
The answer is a multitude of options, followed by more options. Just when people think they’ve got it all figured out, they look in the mirror and realize they are not quite there yet!
First, determine what the theme is. This year it’s African Safari.
Going according to theme could be difficult, that is why it’s not mandatory. Others take the high road and wear what they find exquisite for this event.
Then, one might run to their closet and see their same dull wardrobe they’ve worn a million times.
But, changing an outfit from unexciting to chic is easy with a few flashy accessories. Simple additions such as vibrant belts and body chains make a whole new look. Even a different hairdo usually does the trick. Little items might seem insignificant, but spice up an outfit just enough to make a unique fit for Senior Brunch.
On the other side, there are those who are meticulous with every aspect of their fit.
For girls, the shoes match the purse, the hair style matches the strapless top, the belt matches their jewelry. For boys, the shoes match the belt, everything else goes into place. It’s a trial and error process. The most convenient way to find a look is by having a mental picture. Therefore, when people walk into stores, they can eliminate half the clothes they see.
The best tip is to have fun, regardless of those who wear matching belts or flashy body chains. Everyone should feel confident in what they’re wearing. From the most detailed outfits to last minute looks, the most important part of senior brunch is making memories.
