The month of October is coming to an end and Halloween is finally right around the corner. With this spooky festivity comes a lot of pressure when trying to find the perfect outfit or having to shop last minute. For late shoppers many good and creative costumes are sold out and the ones left can be overpriced or above one’s budget. Here are some creative DIY last minute costumes one can easily make at home.
Agnes DIY costume: For Despicable me fans who might not want to be a minion this year, this adorable costume is a perfect and cheap fit. Outfit is made up of: short overalls, a white and yellow striped shirt, yellow knee high socks, white shoes and most importantly a unicorn stuffed toy which can be purchased in various local stores. Most of these items can be sitting in ones closet.
Hogwarts edition: A scar does not determine a true wizard. Many harry potter costumes purchased in stores are often basic with no type of personality. Creating one at home can make the costume more creative and affordable. Outfit consists of: any type of white polo button shirt, A skirt or pants, any color tie (depending on house), high knee socks, and any object similar to a wizard wand. Depending on the character one wishes to be, one can add special accessories such as a scar or red hair.
Classic Dracula (Men edition) : This costume requires some level of makeup and a creative mind. For a dracula costume death and mystery must always be a goal. For a mysterious face look, use a white foundation on skin, and black shadow around the face to create sharp features; you can also use eyeliner, red eyeshadow etc. The outfit consists of: A white button down polo shirt, vest, black pants, and most importantly a cape. Additional accessories include: vampire teeth, and fake blood.
Ace Ventura: Halloween costumes are not always suppose to be scary or mysterious, many may enjoy a laugh in this spooky day. Ace Ventura is an icon when it comes to comedy with his funky and unique outfits. Recreating it can be both easy and affordable. From his most iconic outfits: Hawaiian open button shirt, white tank top, red and black pants (preferably stripped), belt, boots, and his iconic parrot. Grease (Couple edition): The 50’s will never go out of style especially with the musical Grease which gave us a glimpse of this generation’s great fashion styles. Couples costumes are always fun to do, Sandy and Danny are a great inspiration for a 50s theme outfit. For a Sandy look: Off the shoulder black top, Black leather jeans, leather jacket, red high heels and the iconic red lipstick.
