There are different ways to go about spring cleaning— for some, the beginning of spring means going through the closest and clearing away outdated clothes while others decide it’s a good time for a spiritual cleansing. However, the most common thing people do is clean every corner, crack, and crevice in their home.
When spring comes around, it feels like the perfect time to clean around the house, throw open all the windows and let in some fresh air. Start in the main rooms, without forgetting to get every nook and cranny, even the drawers that haven’t been opened in years.
Now is also the time to go through the closets. Clear out anything you deem unnecessary or out of season like winter clothes and donate them or package them away in storage for next year.
If you live in a warm place, there shouldn’t be too many winter clothes but take out any dark, gloomy colors and replace them with spring colors. For example, switch out maroon for pinks and yellows.
Spring is also the time to let go of all of the negativity— out with the old and in with new. If you can think of anyone who doesn’t make you happy or holds you back, let them go. It’s the beginning of a new season, and the year shouldn’t be filled with people negatively influencing you.
Once all physical objects have been cleaned, do some spiritual cleansing to start off the new season refreshed. Break bad habits, let go of people who negatively impact your life, and avoid negative thinking.
As the flowers start to bloom, so should your mind. You can’t keep habits that harm you more than they benefit you. Find what you have been doing wrong and change.
Now that everything has been cleared out and cleaned, it is time to add some positivity. Get some fresh flowers to brighten up the house, buy new sheets for the bed, and redecorate to add color or light. White, for example brings light into a room.
There is just so much one can do that can be considered spring cleaning, but there’s no need decide on just one. By doing all this, you can enjoy a more stress-free and cleansed springtime.
