Netflix is a popular and highly addictive media streaming service that allows its members to watch movies, shows, and recently, anime. Netflix is the website you find yourself on when you’re bored and there is nothing “good” on T.V. It’s the app that always has you saying “just one more episode”.
According to a statement made by the company, “Netflix is the world’s leading Internet television network with over 81 million members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV shows and movies per day, including original series, documentaries and feature films.”
Netflix’s updates are not always on schedule, however, they are still a constant. The updates are used as a method to keep its users happy with the product they are paying for.
In this year’s update, most shows received a new season. Orange is the New Black, American Dad and The Originals, among others, were updated with another season.

A few of the popular movies that have been added to the large collection on Netflix are The Giver, The Do-Over, and Hush. With the most recent update, on July 1, classics like the Back to the Future trilogy and Mean Girls also made an appearance.

Just as they come in, they also go out. Netflix removed some classic movies from its large database. Among these are Pride and Prejudice, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and The Shining.

“There is no worse feeling, in the whole entire world, than sitting down to watch a movie you’ve had in your Netflix queue only to discover that the movie has disappeared,” stated Jason Gilbert, Huffington Post writer and avid Netflix watcher.
Netflix’s latest genre addition, anime, has slowly grown over the last three years. With this update, the anime genre grew its collection with the addition of sagas such as Freezing, Kotoura-san, and My Little Monster.

Netflix’s update brought a lot of new and exciting movies, shows, and anime to watch. This year’s update is bound to keep us locked in our house for most of the summer as we binge watch tens of shows from beginning to end.
