MLEC requires you to wear an ID card all the time, which could be a little embarrassing if the ID picture doesn’t look so great. Here are some things to do and avoid to get the perfect ID photo:
Cleanliness is key
The week before picture day is a great time to start cleansing your face if you don’t already do so. Exfoliating and moisturizing really do make a difference and it definitely shows in pictures. If you struggle with acne, this helps.
Rest
It might sound silly but getting a good night sleep the day before the pictures will help with dark under eye circles or bags. If you struggle with dark circles or bags under your eyes, tired or not, quick fixes are to drink plenty of water and try some chilled cucumber slices under your eyes.
Practice
If you stress out when thinking about your smile you’re not alone. Decide how you want to smile practice in front of the mirror. But natural smiles are always the best, so if you have a joke or something that makes you laugh, think of that when the photographer sits you down.
Touching Up
Wearing makeup isn’t a bad thing when taking pictures. It might help cover up a few blemishes, redness or dark circles you don’t want to show. Make sure you know how you want to wear the makeup for that day. Stressing the morning of the pictures isn’t the best idea. Beware of shiny makeup or sparkles. The picture isn’t the best of quality or large. It might be best to use matte makeup in avoiding to look greasy.
Hairstyle
Don’t go crazy going for a new hairstyle for your picture. If your hair is curly, enhance the curls. If it is wavy or straight put a bit of styling cream to tame fly aways if needed. It is an ID picture after all, the more you look like yourself the better they come out.
Picking an Angle
Finally, find your angle. Everyone has a side of their face that they believe they look better from. If you think you look better from a certain position then go for it. Just make you’re the photographer can still clearly see your face. After all, with all these small tips, it might be one of the best ID pictures you’ve ever taken.
