On March 7th, the class of 2025 went on their long-awaited Senior Grad Experience trip, an exciting celebration at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Unlike the traditional Grad Bash, which took place after park hours, the Grad Experience allowed seniors to explore the park during regular operating hours, experiencing the rides alongside the general public.
Everyone was undoubtedly excited from the moment they arrived. They looked forward to riding attractions like Rip Ride Rockit, The Incredible Hulk Roller Coaster, and the VelociCoaster. Many took advantage of the chance to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, drinking butterbeer and enjoying themselves in the environment.
“I loved exploring the park with my friends and riding all the rides— the VelociCoaster was the best ride. We ended up riding every ride at Islands and half at Studios. Even though I originally wanted to go to Grad Bash, and still would like to experience it, I’m glad we did this trip because the park wasn’t crowded, and the wait times weren’t insane,” said Lorraine Sparks.
Seniors took well-deserved breaks at popular spots like The Leaky Cauldron, Mel’s Drive-In, and Mythos to fuel up before going on their next adventure. Many others preferred snacks from food stalls, like churros, pretzels, and frozen lemonade, to combat the Florida heat. Staying well-fed and hydrated was important because it reduced the risks of accidents on the trip.
The most important part of the trip was not the attractions but the memories made with friends. Whether screaming on roller coasters together or taking funny pictures, the Grad Experience provided a perfect way for seniors to celebrate their final year with the people they love most. As the day ended, the seniors left tired but happy.
The trip was more than just a visit to the theme parks, it was their final high school trip, marked by laughter, adrenaline, and excitement for graduation.
“I cherish the fact that we got to experience this trip together; it’s a memory we’ll always hold onto,” said Amy Velazquez.
