As the final spirit week for the class of 2025 comes to an end, it’s impossible not to feel a mixture of emotions. The week was filled with both memories that will last a lifetime and the unsavory sensation that the seniors’ last year is coming to an end.
“This spirit week is fun and exciting because it’s an opening to many new friendships and experiences, but it’s also the last for many things that define our youth like dressing down and playing games which feels bittersweet,” said senior Mykellah Beaubien.
Kicking off the week with ‘Dress as a Senior Citizen Day,’ students took this as an invitation to come in their best grandma and grandpa outfits. They outdid themselves with canes, wigs, and even balloons to increase their bust sizes. Many went all out and came with granny glasses and a head full of greys. It was a hilarious start to the week and a perfect icebreaker for making memories with friends.
The second day of spirit week was “Spirit Day” during which seniors showed their class pride by wearing their spirit shirts. This day brought everyone together, as it was not just about showcasing school spirit, but also celebrating the unity that has been built over the years. Seniors participated in their class panorama and watched the reveal of their class paw.
The Paw will leave their mark on this school for decades to come. Representing the class of 2025, the paw is more than a drawing on a wall for them, it was a moment to bond with their fellow classmates for their final huge project. A moment to have an outlet to illustrate the emotions that this class will leave behind. For the students this was a wake up call of how so many things will change in a few months, marking the end of their high school era.
“This is the last time I’ll be able to enjoy simple things like this. It’s like a wake up call that this is really my last year as a high school student and college is the next step. I’m grateful for the laughs and food times these events have brought.’’ said senior Leiana Fraser .
Wednesday was ‘Anything but a Bookbag Day.’ Students exerted themselves, bringing tires, carts, drums, and guitar cases. Even if they didn’t express themselves with their clothing choice, that didn’t stop them from showcasing their creative skills in making their day to day objects a bookbag. This day allowed for plenty of laughs, as classmates showed off their unique, sometimes impractical solution to carrying their supplies.
Thursday’s theme ‘Country club vs Country’ brought out the contrasting styles of preppy, upscale country club attire versus the laid back, rugged charm of the country lifestyle. Students were split into different worlds, with some dressing in polos and skirts, while others wore cowboy hats and boots.
Finally, Friday arrived, marking the highlight of senior week: the senior field trip to Universal Studios. This trip allowed the class of 2025 to escape the daily grind of high school and come together for one last unforgettable adventure.
The week has truly been a celebration of everything that makes high school so special, the friendships, the traditions, and the memories that will last forever. As we send seniors off into the world, we hope they cherish their final spirit week and hold it close to their hearts.
