Released in mid September, the new iOs8 is really just an enhancement of iOs7. The big picture hasn’t really changed but the finer details are definitely improved. Here are some of the features that can be found on the new operating system:
Design
The way iPhone users read and receive notifications has improved. When a text message is received and the notification appears on the top of the screen, there a reply option right underneath it so the use can reply to a message without leaving the current screen.
In the iOs7, when the home button was double-clicked, the apps recently used show up; now, in iOs8, recent calls and favorites appear above those.
Messages
The new operating system can now send texts, voice messages, videos, and pictures with just a tap of a button right from the messaging screen.
To record a voice, there is a microphone button where the “send” button is. Tap and hold it while recording. After, it is automatically sent to the person.
Fortunately, iOs8 provides a solution to that frustrating and annoying problem many iPhone users have faced – being stuck in group chats. A user can delete themselves or others directly from the group chat without having to start a new one. Naming the group chat, sharing a location, and looking at all the photos, videos, and locations sent within the group chat is now possible.
Health
Apple’s new Health app lets the user monitor their heart rate, blood sugar, cholesterol, hours of sleep, diet, and even what medications they are taking. A medical I.D. card with health information can be made in case of an emergency and it can be accessed from the lock screen.
iCloud
All kinds of files can now be uploaded onto the iCloud Drive. Photos, presentations, PDF’s, spreadsheets, and more can now be modified and all changes are instantly saved throughout all Mac or PC devices.
Keyboard
The most that an iPhone’s keyboard used to offer was auto correct, multiple languages, and emoji’s. The new keyboard that comes with iOs8 can predict what someone types and they can now swipe words instead of typing them.
The new system learns the user’s style of typing. Whether they’re texting or e-mailing, the prediction bases the words on whom the message is being sent to and how the user usually messages that person.
Glitches and other imperfections also came with the update and the improvements and additions were not as drastic as the previous system’s release, but they definitely enhance an iPhone lover’s experience.
