New York Fashion Week is known throughout the world because it kicks off new fashion trends for the following years, and every year is different, showcasing different environments, textures, and designs.

This year’s event was set up as an art showcase, with each model showcasing designers’ art, standing completely still while others observed. But of course, some major designers – Michael Costello, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Betsey Johnson, and more – stuck with the traditional runway setting.

After watching what some designers have come up with, it appears that many are moving towards lace.  Spring 2015 will consist of lace and simple floral and see-through designs that will take fashion lovers and trend addicts back to the retro era.

Pops of color and blended use of textures allowed each different designer their own distinctive touches.

However, fashion week wasn’t just about what the designers brought to the runway, but also which celebrities were present and who partied with who.

Fashion is constantly changing, but it appears that what has consistently been worn before is back again, but with a modern twist. Between more retro shoe, hair, and accessory styles, 2015 fashion will make its statement based on the ’50s or ’60s, adding a hint of present-day trends such as lace and color.
