The Miami Beach Convention Center was filled with cosplayers, vendors, comic book fanatics, artists, anime lovers, famous guests, and so much more. So many fandoms came together to enjoy four days of this geek fest, otherwise known as Supercon.

The convention space was a good place to hold such a huge event. The old venue was smaller, causing a large amount of people to be forced into hotter, smaller, and more crowded places. But because the Miami Beach Convention Center is more spacious, the convention itself was more comfortable and enjoyable.

One of the main halls of the convention center was used for vendors and famous guests. The vendors’ room was filled people selling comic books, anime, video games, and television show merchandise. There was even a section for iconic weapons from different shows and video games. There were various booths that sold very cute, Japanese like, “fobby” trinkets and plushies. Most of the merchandise was very expensive, but that is normal at conventions—the goods are overpriced, but you can’t help but buy them.

Extremely talented artists lined the perimeter of the vendors’ room, trying to sell original artwork of your favorite characters. These artists showed off their incredible amount of talent. They each showed their originality through different mediums and drawing styles. Each artist draws or creates an art piece that depicts a character or scene in the way they want. Some artists are more famous while others are just starting out, but nonetheless, the talent is apparent.

The cosplays were pretty good this year. There were a lot of repeats like Poison Ivy and the “Attack on Titan” characters, and while a lot of people cosplayed, not very many went all out like some. When somebody’s wings bump into you, you know it’s a good cosplay.

The special guests of the convention held their Q&As on the main stage. There, the fans would line up and ask questions directly to the celebrities. Jason Momoa and Esme Bianco from “Game of Thrones” attended this year’s Supercon. During Jason Momoa’s panel, he was extremely carefree and funny, and he would answer questions honestly. Some of the “Arrow” cast members were also present, and they were very friendly.

The panels were held mostly on the second floor with different activities and games that were tailored to everybody’s tastes; for example, the first episode Sailor Moon Crystal was shown for the Sailor Moon fans.

This year’s Supercon was very well planned, and it had nice guests. Let’s hope that next year is even better!
