Out with a Bang!

Out with a Bang!

By Maria Martinez

Miami has many attractions: the weather, the beach and its nightlife to name a few. But today, any Miami native will say that the best thing Miami has to offer is Dwyane Wade.

The greatly beloved Heat player, who is set to retire at the end of this season, gave his fans a night to remember. The Heat played the highest ranked team in the western conference, the Golden State Warriors, last night, February 27.

This was a bittersweet game, as Wade’s time in basketball is coming to an end, leaving behind a very illustrious journey. Yet his eminent retirement is not stopping Wade from continuing to impress his fans. Probably the best shot of his career took place last night when Wade brought victory home with the buzzer beating three point shot in the game against the Warriors. This is a miracle in so many ways – not only a buzzer beating shot, but he went out with a bang, a 3-point shot and, with it, a win it for Miami.

What a game to watch. Not only did the Heat win, but the deal was closed by a Heat central figure. As he has many times in the past, Wade came through for his city, his team, coach and fans. Wade through the years has been the most selfless and reliable player that the Heat has ever had.

Watching the Heat game this season is more than watching the home team, it’s about watching Dwyane Wade’s final games before his legacy comes to an end–and what a ride it has been.

Each quarter was a thrill. But it was Wade’s skill and presence that brought the W to Miami.
