Once it was announced that all seniors could head to the cafeteria, laughter was heard and smiles were seen throughout the hallways. The cafeteria was decorated according to the Hawaiian theme giving a calm and colorful view as balloons floated around.

This year, Class of 2019 went all out, the walls were decorated with vibrant flowers and photobooth displays were scattered around the cafeteria. Each table had nice centerpieces such as sand, flowers, and pineapples with sunglasses giving it a beachy vibe.

Ms. Castro started the morning by welcoming all Seniors to their first event and talking about future events, hyping the crowd with every expected activities. The Class officer then took the spotlight giving thanks to all volunteers and wishing the seniors a good experience. Emotionally, Jessica Santos showed her gratitude to the class of 2019.

“Being able to see my class so happy and amazed at all of our hard work has definitely got to be the best feeling, making them proud and seeing that senior spirit light up. It was definitely one for the books and sets the tone for the school year. It was definitely a great start to senior year!” Explained Jessica Santos, class of 2019 President.

The morning went on with a good healthy breakfast that surpassed everyone’s expectations

“The breakfast was really nice I enjoyed it. It was not what I expected coming from school,” said Ayanna Johnson.

The music blasted through the cafeteria as students scattered around the dance floor screaming lyrics and showing their moves. Others took the opportunity to take pictures and advantage of the photo booths.

It was a day well planned with weeks of anticipation by every senior and days of hard work from volunteers. In the end everyone enjoyed senior social and got to connect with friends and new classmates.
