Summer was just the calm before the storm. The vacation us jaguars enjoyed was simply preparation and hard work for MLEC’s upcoming seniors. Class of 2019 dawned their crowns upon themselves on their last first day of school, and they expressed their superiority over all other classes with their gaudy headdress and other accessories. It’s the day they’ve all waited for –– senior crowning.
These crowns represent three stressful years, filled with laborious work, a lack of a social life, summer programs, and an infinite arsenal of memories created on campus. It’s a sign that senioritis is about to strike, and that public schooling has met its end.
As everyone wears their crowns, a feeling of unison, and a sense of family was inculcated through every senior. Teachers and administration get to see yet another group of amazing, brilliant students reach the end of their road, and merge onto a new one; away from what they’ve always known.
It won’t be long before these crowns and feathered boas will soon become graduation caps and long gowns.
