Is Apple Going Too Far? by Maria Vasquez

A lot of people believe that Apple is always coming out with new devices– one after another– in order to make more money. That may be true but the only reason they’re making money is because people are buying.

Steve jobs once said: “You can’t just ask what customers want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they’ll want something new.”

The need and want people have to get the latest device or update shows how and why Apple makes so much money. They sell what people want: innovative and modern technology, or the “next big thing.”

Apple has a worldwide customer base, meaning that there are people from all over the world with different tastes, ideas, and wants. They provide that sense of diversity and range of options for their customers with all their different products.

“I don’t think that Apple is going too far with all their new products. People say it’s a waste of money and time to make those devices but they really aren’t. Apple is giving people variety and that’s smart because it attracts a wide range of people throughout the world,” says Salwa Raza, a junior in Cambridge.

The multi-billion dollar company has a pretty good idea of what they’re doing. By selling different products all the way from the iPod to the Apple TV and always providing updates for them, they are keeping users up-to date with the newest technology.

Apple may be coming out with “the same product, just with a bigger/smaller/wider/thinner screen” but it’s not like they haven’t brought new things to the table (like the first smartphone ever.) They’re clearly doing something right if they’re making money by the billions.
