March 21st is the official start of spring, but in the fashion world, things move a little faster. At this year’s New York Fashion Week, top designers come to show their newest collections.
From Gucci and Vera Wang to Marc Jacobs, this year’s spring collections were full of glitter, color, and surprises.
Gone are the traditional pastel colors. This year designers envisioned bold prints, regal purples, and there was an array of throwback 80s and 90s styles, from urban chic to gothic.
Since it is Spring, we do still have those pastel colors, but primarily in the season’s makeup. The trends to try out this year include:
The natural look
For this look, leave the dark eyeshadows somewhere else and bring out your nudes. With just some light browns or oranges and natural eyebrows, the eyes are already set. Do not overdo your foundation. Remember that you want a subtle look so your face will still need that healthy, natural glow.
To slim your face, leave the contour kit the same place you left the black eyeshadow, because all you will need is some bronzer. To finish off the look, don’t forget a warm pink for blush and some highlight— not too much— and a light pink or nude lipstick.
Seafoam green eyes
This eye makeup was featured on a Marc Jacobs model, making it one of the top looks to try this season. When doing the eyeshadow, start with a white or a light color in the inner light, blend in the seafoam green from the middle out, and use brown for the crease of the eye. Leave it like that or finish it with a liner if it’s at night.
Glitter brows
In the past, highlighted cheekbones and brow bones were the center of attention. Now, the fashion world has taken it a step further by adding glitter to under the eyebrow.
Choose your braid
This season is all about messy and loose braids. They don’t have to include all of your hair, you can add subtle messy braids for more of a bohemian vibe.
