Homecoming Proposals by Maria Vasquez

“Will you go to homecoming with me?” Come November, this is the question almost every girl dreams of being asked. Fortunately, for these girls, their wish was granted.

One Tuesday morning, Yennifer Dominguez was asked to homecoming by her boyfriend Adriel Martinez. She was caught by surprise and teared up as she entered C-Cafe. Adriel and his friends were holding a large sign that asked Yennifer to homecoming. He was holding the “me?” portion of the banner as well as balloons and flowers.

“Although we’ve been dating for a while, it was still cute and unexpected and special.”

Adriel admitted he was nervous to ask her “even though we’ve been dating for four years since 7th grade.”

The next proposal was to Michelle Romero. Her boyfriend of about one month, Ricardo Guerra, asked her to homecoming by putting a big poster on her car that asked “HOMECOMING?” With the poster came beautiful white roses.

“I’ve never done anything like that for a girl before,” Ricardo said.

Ricardo did mention that he was extremely nervous since they’ve been dating for a short period of time but they have known each other since freshman year. Even though he was nervous he still caught Michelle by surprise.

With a big smile on her face and cheeks as red as an apple she said that she “was really surprised and didn’t know what to do! I was expecting it earlier, so when he did ask me the day before of Homecoming, I wasn’t expecting it!”

Gabriel Videa asked Carina Vo out by standing on one knee and holding a box. No it wasn’t a marriage proposal. Instead, it was a pizza box that asked if she wanted to go to homecoming with him. Along with the pizza, he held sunflowers and a flower crown he made for her.

“I was pretty sure she would say yes but I was still nervous. I was dying!”

Regardless of them just being friends, they’ve known each other since last school year. Carina said yes.

“I was overwhelmed, happy, and surprised!”
