By Christine Romero

This winter break, don’t have a blank calendar or do the same boring old things as last year. There’s a million things to do here in Miami that go unnoticed. So, to ensure that your winter break is not only restful and relaxing, but also fun and exciting, here are a few things for everyday of winter break.

December 19:
According to The Miami New Times “the Bird Road Art District has transformed in 30-odd artist studies and public exhibition spaces.” This art district is free from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is near Bird Road and the Palmetto Expressway.  It’s very similar to Wynwood so if you need a new art scene, this is the place.

December 20:
“WHERE THE FOUR WINDS BLOW” is a part of the Chamber Music Series. It will consist of NWS Fellows and highly rated guest artists that will collaborate in a beautiful and intimate concert. If you would like to see all 6-concert series which will be a fee of $72. This concert is taking place at the New World Center, 500 17th ST. Miami Beach.

December 21:
The Miami Beach Bowl’s second annual game is December 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the Marlins Park. To anyone who is interested in baseball and watching a top team form the American Athletic Conference against a team from Conference USA, this is the place to be.

December 22:
If you’re in need of relaxation, morning yoga is the way to go. There’s no need for experience, just a bring water, a towel and a positive attitude, and you’ll be ready. Participants meet at the Freehand Miami Lobby by 9:45 a.m. (2727 Indian Creek Drive, Miami Beach).

December 23:
Never seen a movie under the stars? Go down to SoundScape Cinema Series, Miami Beach, to watch a free movie. Whether there’s rain or shine (unless noted), showtime is at 8p.m. Take your family and friends, or that special someone to 500 17th Street and have a great time.

December 26:
Having little siblings and cousins is tough when you don’t know how to keep them entertained. But the Saturday after christmas, take them to the PAMM’s Knight Education Center! Every fourth Saturday at 1 p.m, 3-5 year-olds (accompanied by adults, of course) read, and participate in art sessions. It’s a fun learning environment, and a walk around the museum is equally as fun. Pre-registration is required since space is limited.

December 27:
Take a moonlight canoe tour across Biscayne Bay. Also enjoy s’mores and campfires on Chicken Key from 7 to 10:30 p.m. This is a great place to go out on a little adventure with your friends that’s almost never thought of and a lot of fun. Call or register online to get your tickets from Deering Estate Ticket Office.

Whether you do hang out with your friends and family or just like to relax by yourself, don’t forget to check out these really great events. Doing the same things and going to the same place can get boring. These places are exciting and are for limited time, so don’t miss out this winter break.
