The yearly class trip is one of the most anticipated events of the year. Students in all grade levels prepare for an exciting all-day adventure with their friends. On February 7th, the class of 2026 will embark on their trip to Hollywood Studios, one of the four Disney parks in Orlando.

A recent assembly divulged all the information needed to go on the trip. Faculty addressed concerns about arriving the day of, what to bring, and what will happen once students arrive. The assembly was informational and built excitement for the event to an all-time high.

Overall, it detailed that students should arrive at school around 4:30 am, with parents dropping them off in the bus loop. Students will initially wait in the gym before boarding their assigned bus.

The bus has strict policies to follow to ensure the 4-hour trip goes smoothly. For example, no open food or drinks will be allowed, and bathroom use will be limited until the rest stop. While the bus will be cold, blankets are not permitted. Jackets are, instead, highly encouraged.

Upon arrival at the park students will be allowed free reign. At 6pm, nearly 8 hours later, the bus will bring them back to MLEC. A snack will be provided for the day, but it is highly recommended to bring $15-25 for a meal at the park.

During the assembly, Activities Director, Ms. Cordova emphasized the importance of wearing appropriate clothing and bringing other necessities, such as a phone charger. Students are highly encouraged to wear their class shirt.

“The officers, we’re preparing for the trip by gathering snacks. We got them water, a variety pack of chips, candies…Disney’s an expensive party. It’s something you want to make memories with. We’re just trying to make it the best trip possible,” said class of 2026 Vice-President, Cherish Nichols.

In anticipation of the trip, juniors have begun to prepare in several ways. Junior Alex Ladeira expressed his excitement for the field trip by planning out the day. The student even went as far as to buy his friends Mickey ears.

“It’s fun to hang out with my friends, I love it. I’m super excited,” said Alex. “I planned an itinerary, I have a bag, I looked at the weather, I have a little first aid kit. I’m so ready for this,” said Alex.

With the trip just around the corner, juniors have a lot to look forward to. The week leading up to the trip will be filled with a celebration of their junior spirit, with the Junior Ring Ceremony just a few days before. There’s no doubt that the trip to Hollywood Studios will be an amazing conclusion to the week.
