More than 35 years after the original release of Beetlejuice, Warner Bros is bringing the mischievous ghost back to the big screen in a highly anticipated sequel, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” Scheduled for release in theaters on September 6, 2024, the new film promised to combine dark humor with modern elements while incorporating nostalgia for longtime fans of the original.

The original “Beetlejuice,” released in 1988, quickly became a classic. Directed by Tim Burton, the film starred Michael Keaton as “Beetlejuice,” a demon who causes trouble for both the living and the dead. Winona Ryder played Lydia Deetz, a quirky teenage girl caught up in the chaos, while Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin portrayed Barbara and Adam Maitland, a ghostly couple who unintentionally summon Beetlejuice to help them frighten off new occupants of their home.

There have been many interpretations of the original Beetlejuice, which has inspired numerous adaptations over the years, including stage musicals and plays. Fans worldwide have eagerly awaited the sequel, building high expectations for the upcoming release. Many anticipated that it could surpass the original.

“I’ve been a fan since I was like in elementary, I’m excited that Jenna Ortega is going to be in the movie as well. A lot of the reviews I’ve seen have made me more excited to watch the movie, knowing that some old cast is coming back,” said Mykellah Beaubien

Fans of the original “Beetlejuice” can expect the same dark humor and eerie fun that made the first film a cultural phenomenon but with a twist of moderation to refresh the sequel for the newer generations.

“I’ve never had an interest in going to watch the latest movies. Beetlejuice seems cool, but personally, I wouldn’t go watch it. I think it’s mid,” said junior Luis Chavez.

The iconic Beetlejuice movie remake “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” has made its grand entrance thrilling audiences with its own entertaining and modern charm. The film has achieved an impressive $110 million in its domestic opening, marking the second-highest September debut in history, just behind Warner Bros’ movie “It.”

While fan reactions have been mixed the new film has been doing well for the limited time it is in theaters. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is available to stream on platforms like HBO Max and YouTube for a cost. Allowing fans plenty of time to enjoy the new sequel this upcoming spooky season in the comfort of their own homes.
