As Miami Lakes Educational Center begins a new academic year, we are thrilled to introduce and welcome the dedicated group of officers elected to lead the Class of 2028. Their ability to nurture a sense of community promises an exciting year ahead and an opportunity to enhance our school experience. After elections, we were able to get inside details on the officers stride for running and what hopes they have for the future. Here’s what we found.

Nayeli Rivero, the new class of freshman year ambassador has stepped into her role with a passion for facilitating enjoyable experiences and promoting teamwork among her peers. The ambassador role provides valuable information to current and potential students. Her enthusiasm for actively participating in school activities and helping others thrive is sure to make a positive impact.

Similarly, Isabella Aceituno has taken on the role of  Vice President with a clear vision of improving the school environment for everyone. She has the vision of putting everyone’s ideas into play and making everyone feel connected. Driven by her love for involvement and her leadership qualities, Isabella is committed to making this school year better for all students.

Newly elected president, Leilah Gonzalez , is also strongly driven to make high school a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone, especially freshmen. With her ambition, Leilah aims to make the first year of high school less intimidating and truly unforgettable for everyone that is involved.

“I am very excited that I was elected president and I know that I won’t let my peers down and take everyone’s thoughts into consideration. I feel like with the help of my other officers I will be able to showcase an extreme amount of importance with the student body,” said freshman Leilah.

Ambrosio Rios Tabares, the class treasurer, has expressed a deep commitment to making the next four years remarkable for his peers. His decision to start in a foundational role reflects his dedication to gaining the experience and confidence needed for future leadership opportunities. With this he will be able to not only continue his progress freshman year but further it into his high school years.

Likewise, Keisy Arias, our newest 2028 secretary, is excited to contribute her skills and school pride to the role. Her enjoyment of helping others and involvement in school activities will play a significant role in supporting the needs of the Class of 2028. She will be able to give vast ideas of involvement such as outside activities and fun interacting events for the freshman. Even though she is happy in her position, Keisy recognizes the struggles she may face.

“I am scared to make a mistake and that my peers aren’t going to like my thoughts or the actions I do. This is what makes me nervous for my position and facing the whole student body,” said Keisy.

Regardless, we are confident that this enthusiastic and capable group of officers will lead the Class of 2028 with dedication and spirit, truly embodying what it means to be a Jaguar! Their collective efforts and leadership will undoubtedly enhance the school experience for everyone. Make sure to welcome them to their new roles and support them throughout the year.
