Call Me if You Get Lost Tour Expectations

By Kelly Sanchez

The cancellation of events as a result of the pandemic let a lot of people down, from travelers to socialites. After years of drastic changes in socio-political dynamics, it’s no surprise that when the word got out that artists like Tyler, the Creator, Kali Uchis, Vince Staples, and Teezo Touchdown were going on tour around the United States, concertgoers and fans spent much of their time researching all they would need to know to enjoy their experience seeing their favorite artists back on stage during the “Call Me if You Get Lost” tour.

With over 15 millions followers combined, Tyler, the Creator, and Kali Uchis, who often makes appearances in his projects, are the main attractions.

“I’ve been a fan of Tyler and Kali for the past three years. I’m so thrilled they are going on tour together,” said Angela Garcia-Amaya, a long-time fan of the artists.

The tour kicked off on February 8, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona, where Tyler showed off his extravagant costume and set design. He could be seen roaming around the main stage sporting his debut clothing line, “GOLF le FLEUR” along with a mint green antique car, mansion, boat, and lots of special effects.

Anybody who has supported Tyler for a long time knows his performances are ones to remember. He puts on an act for every show and, of course, it’s not a Tyler concert without some of his antics.

“I expect the concert to have very colorful visuals and be spontaneous,” Garcia-Amaya said. “I’m definitely expecting for there to be a lot of surprising elements in the show,” she continued.

He knows how to dance the night away and crack jokes like it’s nobody’s business. However, Tyler can be vulnerable, too, and that’s a quality a lot of his fans appreciate about him.

He sang a mixture of songs from his older albums with some newer songs from his latest release. No two songs are the same, each with a different visual element and evoking a different feeling in the audience. “WUSYANAME,” an upbeat song about falling in love with someone before finding out they’re taken, had a much different feel from “See You Again” ft. Kali Uchis, which has a much more profound and sad storyline behind it.

Kali Uchis, who like Tyler has been on the rise to fame for years now, performed as well. Kali’s strong personality and vintage aesthetic surely complemented Tyler’s presence nicely.

“I think Tyler and Kali being on tour together is so cool! They are a good mix and they work well together,” said Emely Gonzalez, a fan of the artists.

Her dreamy visuals encapsulated the very essence of who she tries to portray herself as while performing. After all, her Instagram bio is “in my own world.”

She opened with her breakup anthem “Dead to Me,” which is perfect for anyone who wants to let go of the past and sing their hearts out. Another song that she sang and will be singing on her other stops throughout this tour was “Loner,” which she released in 2015 and has influences from R&B, soul, and reggae. She knows just how to get her older fans in their feels.

There’s a lot to look forward to for this tour. Fans can expect to continue to see the artists offering a fun and memorable experience for anyone who attends their concerts.
