From our January issue.
Filled with a handful of savory flavors, unique in their selection of decorative frostings, and located in a diner with voodoo style artifacts, Voodoo Doughnuts serves as a hotspot for those looking for a mouthful of sweetness.
Originating in Portland, Oregon, Voodoo Doughnut has since expanded beyond nine locations in five states, including outposts in CityWalk near Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
Luckily, the shop’s mix of eclectic humor, eye-catching interiors, fun easter eggs, and delicious doughnuts makes it a perfect fit for theme parks.
Featured in shows like The Travel Channel, The Cooking Channel, MTV, Good Morning America, The Today Show, and The Tonight Show, Voodoo Doughnut’s unique approach does not go unnoticed.
However, this shop goes beyond its sweet delicacies.
Prior to taking a bite in their doughnuts, there’s no doubt that through their Doughnut Throne outside the store and Voodoo style merchandise and traditions, those who dine are given a full experience from start to finish.
In choosing from a wide variety of sweet and savory selections, guests are also greeted with a world-famous spinning doughnut case found at all Voodoo Doughnut locations.
With highlights including the Bacon Maple Bar, Portland Cream, ODB, Grape Ape, and the iconic Voodoo Doll, their unique approach to doughnuts is one filled with humor.
To grab a taste of these highlights, Voodoo Doughnuts offers two types of a dozen doughnuts in a box, Voodoo Dozen and Fryer Flyer Dozen, both offering a mix of classics and all their premium selections in one box.
As claimed in the “The Voodoo Doughnut Story” section of their website, they wrote, “Voodoo customers and enthusiasts credit the company for creating innovative, unique doughnut flavors and products,” and they’re always asking for a Voodoo Doughnut to open in “their neighborhood.”
Listening to customers, the company plans to expand its offerings and footprint, opening new locations around the U.S.
There’s no denying that one will walk out of the store in an all-time high sugar rush.
