The Iconic Park of Miami Lakes

By Sofia Palomino

Miami Lakes, which was originally pastures of farm land, grew to become a vibrant town with many parks, green areas, and lakes. It has some hidden gems, such as the Graham Park. A common ground for the small land of Hialeah, it is the most visited lake in town.

This park is located around the heart of the town and, while it is relatively small, it has fostered hundreds of memories for the members of the community and their families with its semi-natural planted space.

Graham Park is much more than what its name suggests — it is a safe space where people can gather to exchange pleasant conversations over a cup of coffee, or even catch up for reunion on their recent daily activities. The children are able to roam free, teens hang out under the park’s unique trees, and the elderly leisurely eye the native ducks.

Whether it is warm or cold, there is always something special happening there: from mini photoshoots to picnics, and even exercise, the possibilities are endless.

The iconic Graham Park has always brought a sense of comfort to the town.

A father and his son are at the edge of the lake while the boy plays with the fishes.

Families walk around the lake and cross the bridge to spend sometime outside.

Many people follow the path along the lake while riding their bike.

The family sat on the hill while the daughter played with her toys and the parents enjoyed the sun with the breeze.

The teenager had a picnic under the tree while she listened to music.

The elderly couple brought their own chairs to the park to observe the lake’s effervescent scenery and its visitors.
