Fall Season: Dive Right In!

Fall Season: Dive Right In!

By Valentina Foglia

As the windy mornings and cold nights shorten our day and September days come to an end, Miami’s version of autumn rolls in. Now is the time to make the most out of the fall season and get into the spirit.

Fall Fashion

Start to incorporate fall colors and tones, like orange, brown, yellow, and red. Even seeing these colors together automatically reminds people of fall. Colors and tones like these can be used to paint your nails, to do your makeup, or simply design the clothes you wear.

“I would normally change my makeup looks for sure! I would start by using neutral and orangey tones instead of bright colors,” says Jessica Suarez, an MLEC Health Science sophomore in Pharmacy.

Fall tones are very neutral unlike summer tones that are bright and vibrant, and it doesn’t have to be just in makeup — it can be used in clothes as well. A black and red flannel tied around your waist, dark blue jeans, a tight black long-sleeved shirt, and some black boots would fit the fall season well. For the boys, a blackbeanie, white hoodie, black jeans, with white shoes would also fit the fall season trend.

Home Decor

If you want to keep your style for the season, decorate your house or your room. Some fairy lights above the door or around the room give off the sense of coziness.

Place blankets and pillows everywhere. Put a blanket on your chair, on your bed, on the floor— make your room look as cozy as possible for the cool wind breeze approaching.

Calming music is a good way to transition into Christmas music. It can be considered a perfect tune for fall season. Some have their own unique ways of implementing music into their fall spirit.

“For the fall season I would learn music that has to do with the cold and getting together with my family, and play it on my guitar,” says Oscar Rios, an MLEC sophomore in Nursing Assistant.

Candles are a fall season special. Candles that smell like fallen leaves and pumpkin are a cozy way to settle in for the fall.

“The fairy lights going across the room give me a sense of joy for fall to come. The smell of sweet pumpkin cinnamon makes me want to bake. The little pumpkin posted at my door gives me good vibes for halloween,” says Emily Cue, a sophomore in Medical assistant.

Fall is almost impossible to have in Miami with the constant heat, but that doesn’t mean cute coats and sweaters have to be packed away. Now is the time to enjoy the slight winds and the wonderful colors. Even in Miami, this season has it’s amazing qualities.
