A heated presidential debate unfolded competitively last night between America’s top rivalrous duo — former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump. On that very day, the formal stage for political discourse had become no more than an arena of quarrel and unbuttoned dispute.
Trump and Biden had certainly outdone themselves on the podium. And, what was supposed to be a 90-minute debate targeting ambiguous voters, quickly morphed into a tele-novella. With childish insults to uncalled interruptions, the only thing missing had been for both presidential candidates to get into clown makeup.
Folks from all over the world are now laughing at the American people. Perhaps they have been doing so this whole time — and even then, they have every right to do so.
Neither candidate could answer a simple question without invoking a verbal brawl. When asked to explain why and how the American people could rely on them to handle the country’s ongoing health crisis, they responded by spewing insults instead.
Middle school Mock Trial debaters have more respect for each other than these candidates do. Food fights in school cafeterias are more regulated than this debate was. Such immature behavior, televised on live broadcast, was simply unbelievable.
To think that such old, brazen, hot-headed men could even consider running the country is absurd. These immature politicians, who do not even know the logical fallacies of debating, try to pass themselves off as professionals — a fruitless effort on their half.
Not a single segment within those 90 minutes had transitioned peaceably. The only aspect that came from this year’s presidential debate had been the outpour of memes and jokes on TikTok, Twitter, and as well other social media platforms.
It was almost too difficult to believe what was being broadcasted was real. Surely, it had to be a sitcom or an act — but no. Everything that was spewed out, even the mentions of dead sons and mentions of suburbs, were real.
As of now, it is quite safe to say that all remaining hope for America has plainly flushed down the toilet.
